IRJE #6 Gone Girl

As I am finishing Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn I found it to be one of the most exceptionally engaging stories to follow where one of the narrators, Amy Dunne, is unreliable for perspective. It follows her as she fakes her death to frame her husband Nick.

”I am so much happier now that I am dead.”

I chose this quotation because it represents the character depth of this beloved main character. Amy unhappy with her marriage, her life, and most of all her husband’s actions does not care about the consequences of hers because, by this point in her life, she has gone mentally insane. As a normal person reading this, you might think most definitely this would turn people off from such a book, however, you’re completely wrong and that is one of the many reasons why I love this book instead of finding it boring like I do with many others.
