I’m going to be writing about my future adventures and vacations for my personal writing. I believe I have four trips planned. The first is a school-sponsored trip to the UK. I’m really excited to visit the UK because I believe it will be a valuable learning experience for me to travel independently and without my family. My second vacation is to Edmonton, where I will be going with my family. Specifically, we will be visiting the West Edmonton Mall. My third vacation is to Oysous, which I’m looking forward to because it’s always nice there and we get to see my grandparents. My final trip is to Quebec. im very excited for this trip since i speak very good french and french is my 2nd language. I think this will be beneficial for both showing my family and helping me get better at speaking French. It will be fascinating to see, in my opinion, whether the French I learnt differs from that spoken in Quebec.

The book “Our Town” was a extremely well written book book and play. The play was extremely intresting, such as the scenery and the way the did not use much props and you had to use your imagination to picture what some of the charchters were doing.

The book was harder to read than watching the play in my opinion. I thought that that it was a bit confusing how the narrator was talking to the actors in the book, it makes a bit more sense in the play, but i was still a bit confused.

Overall i thought that the book did have quite a bit of detail than some of the other books we have read in class, and overall this book was one of my favorite.

On Wednesday I woke up and saw that it was a snow day. The first thing I did when I got up is I completed all my homework in the morning so that I could have the rest of the day to play outside in the snow with my friends and brother. After I finished all my homework I did some cleaning than got into my snow gear, than went outside to go sledding. When my brother and my friends were outside we all went to the hill so we can sled down it, I went first than my brother came right behind me, as he was going down the hill he ended up crashing into me. After sledding for about 2 hours we went inside to eat dinner and than cleaned up. After eating dinner it was about 7 oclock and we wanted to go sledding at night, we were hoping for another snow day but we knew there would be school the next day. We sledded for about an hour and a half, and than had a snow ball fight afterwards, about 10 minutes later my dad yelled at my brother and I to come inside and start getting ready for bed. My brother and I went into the hot tub and than went to sleep.

 

The story of Joseph from extremely well written book. Something that I found  extremely interesting is the vocabulary that they had used in the book such as the words they use, like “Brethren,” “thy,” and “whomever,”.

An Enemy of the People is a book that revolves around Dr. Thomas Stockmann. Dr. Stockmann is extremely passionate about the public baths in the town he lives in as he discovers that they are contaminated. He also expected recognition from the people about his discovery but instead everyone said he was crazy and was against his findings. Peter Stockmann, who was Dr. Stockmanns brother and also the mayor was very angry with him that he would even bring this up to the people in the town.  The mayor was concerned that if this information got out there that the it would affect the financial wellbeing of the town. Toward the end of the book, Peter and Dr. Stockmann had a meeting with people in the town about the baths where Peter forbid Dr. Stockmann to speak of the baths ever again, he was declared an enemy of the people.  The book is about standing up for what you believe in even though you may be going against a popular opinion.

My top 3 favorite movies and why: 

• Scream 
• Five Nights At Freddys 
• The babysitter 

 

My first Favorite movie is Scream because I like the thrill of the movie and how it is a horror flim, I also like that the movie is unexpected and I also love the characters in Scream. For my second favorite movie it is Fight Nights At Freddys. I enjoyed this movie because it had my favorite character from scream playing a killer in the Five Nights at Freddys movie and he was also a killer in Scream, I also enjoyed how the movie was very scary and has a couple of jump scares which is something I enjoy. Lastly my third favorite movie is The Babysitter, this movie is also a horror movie, I also enjoyed the thrill of the movie and the surprises.  

Last weekend my younger cousin Nyla came to visit me and my family with her parents.  She arrived Friday afternoon as it was a pro-d day and I was at a friends when she arrived.  Later in the afternoon I came home and my parents and her parents went out for dinner while leaving me in charge. For dinner we ordered pizza and had root beer to drink. On the second day I spent most of the day doing homework before going out to babysit.  Before I left my mom helped Nyla and I make many bottles of  homemade lash serum.  When I finished baby sitting around 9pm, my family came to pick me up. We all went to 2 haunted houses. The first one we went to, people in costumes were following us around and the decorations were extremely scary. The second house we went to was a little less scary but it was still fun.

Master and Man is a great book it’s only 48 pages long. The descriptions in this story are seriously interesting, and the writing style is quite formal, which adds a unique touch to it. 

 The characters, Nikita and Vasili don’t get along. The difference between Nikita and Vasili is that Nikita is a very selfless person and Vasili is a very selfish person. Nikita doesn’t care about how much money he makes, instead he cares about his family’s well-being. Vasili on the other hand is the opposite and only cares about money and will get do anything to get it. He also is very rude to his wife and yells at her a lot.  

 As well I feel like I resemble to Nikita because we both care about family and would do anything to help our family no matter what the cost is. 

 Towards the end of the book, Vasili decides to leave Nikita in the snow and take the horse to continue the path, when Vasili ends up doing a circle by accident, he ends up finding Nikita buried in the snow. He decided to dig up Nikita and to help him because Vasili does not want to get blamed for Nikitas’s death because he does not want to ruin his reputation. All of the sudden when Vasili is warming up Nikita with his big fur coat, he decides he wants to be a better person and change, so he starts to pray to God to forgive all his sins. 

  In Master and Man Both Nikita and Vasili prayed to God when they were about to die, which makes you wonder about the title. Is it about Vasili as the master and Nikita as the Man, or is it about God and Nikita or Vasili, or maybe both of them. 

 Something that I am disappointed with is that the book ends with Vasili dying. It would’ve been interesting to see if he really would change.

 

     Sheridan Lake Summer Trip

 

Something exciting I did this summer was going to Sheridan Lake with my family and cousins from my dad’s side of the family. At Sheridan Lake, my cousins and I went to claim our bedrooms, boys upstairs, girl’s downstairs. After we all claimed our beds, we went outside to the dock and went swimming for a couple of minutes, it was very cold. Later my dad discovered that there were leeches in the water so none of us went swimming anymore except my uncle, he went floating out and came back with 5 leeches on him and had to pull them off.

My cousin Nyla and I went on one of the 3 paddle boards to go look for frogs in the little corners with mud, bushes, and lily pads. The water we looked for the frogs in was very shallow. We used a net and a bucket with water to catch the frogs so we would not get bugs and leeches on our hands. Every time we would go back to the dock, we would have caught around 2 frogs at least, big and small. In the little spot we would go to, there were a lot of frogs but usually they were all camouflage, but you could see their eyes. When we would come back there would always be gross bugs and leeches on our paddle board and paddle.

During the time we went to Sheridan we usually would spend most of our time out on the lake paddling, because we did not want to swim with leeches. Sometimes we would come inside and watch Disney movies with my youngest cousin Abigail, and we would sing frozen songs while all the adults were outside. It was an incredibly fun trip.
