This year it has been an amazing experience so far. Living away from home has taught me a lot about being independent and responsible. One of the biggest changes has been learning how to cook for myself.
At the beginning, it wasn’t easy. I didn’t know how to prepare many things, and sometimes I made small mistakes, like burning the toast or forgetting ingredients. But over time, I started to enjoy it more. Now, I can make simple but tasty dishes like pasta, rice, and even pancakes. Sometimes, I cook with my friends from school — it’s always fun because we share recipes from our countries and laugh when something doesn’t go as planned.
Cooking has become one of my favorite activities here. It helps me relax after a busy day at school, and it makes me feel proud to prepare my own meals. I’ve learned that being independent is not just about living alone, but also about taking care of yourself and enjoying the little things in daily life.
