Because I don’t have any ideas what to write about I will just tell you about some random things. First I just found out today that my uncle is going to come to visit me for a long weekend and I am really exited for that because I don’t get to see him a lot in general since he lives in Berlin which is really far away. So he is coming to Vancouver where I will stay with him and maybe I even get some extra days of school for that. Also I am a bit sad because I miss my other uncle’s medical office (I am pretty sure that is not what I want to say but deepl told me that) opening because I happen to be here and not in Vienna. Another thing I am sad for missing is the ESC (Eurovision Song Contest), which is a music competition which Austria won for the first time again since 2014, so this year it takes place in Vienna. My mum, my brother, three of my cousins and two of my other uncles are going. My dad didn’t want to go because he doesn’t see the point in listening to a lot of not so good music and just waiting for an hour and then screaming for three and then waiting for another one and then either screaming again or crying for one more hour (depending on how your country did). I don’t actually know why I like it so much but it has been a long tradition and it’s always fun to see people from many different countries get together. Okey I changed that last part about three times now, actually I wanted to talk about the Bechdel-test which I found out about recently but I got a bit angry so I will change the topic to ladybird, a movie I recently (a few months ago but it’s amazing and still in my head) watched. Originally I just wanted to watch it because of Saoirse (I DON’T know how to pronounce that) Ronan, probably my favorite actress. I first saw her when I went to a movie theater in Vienna where they played the outrun (SOSOSOSOSO good, must watch for everybody who likes independent/indie movies), and I love her acting style and how she portraits emotions and also she makes every movie amazing (little women, the outrun etc.). Ladybird basically is about Christine(Saoirse), who calls herself ladybird, growing up and her connection to her mum and her friends (mostly her best friend Julie) and how she wants to get out of Sacramento and just not be poor. The plot is basic I would say but the way the movie is made, in a kind of plain way with no exaggeration and how the actresses and actors play their roles, make it an actually good movie for me. I just realized that I will write less personal writings than I have fingers but I need to stop thinking about that because I don’t want to be sad right now.
