This quotation comes form the same book that I have just finished a week ago and used it to create my first two IRJE’s “No Excuses” which is a self-help book that emphasizes the power of self-discipline to achieve success in various aspects of life. The book is divided into twenty-one different chapiters with each focusing on a different aspect of personal development. The author Brian Tracy is a Canadian- American motivational speaker, author, and founder of Brian Tracy Internationals. He is known for his work in personal development and business training. This quotation comes from chapter seven Self-discipline and persistence. This quotation explains how your self-esteem grows when you practice self-discipline and persistence.
“There is a direct link between self-discipline and self-esteem. Each time you discipline yourself to do what you should do, when you should do it, whether you feel like it or not, your self-esteem increases. this is why there is direct relationship between self-esteem and persistence. Each time you persist and force yourself to continue on, even when you feel like quitting, your self esteem goes up.”(page 117).
Even when some days you might feel tired, discouraged, or distracted in sports or in any other form of work. If you still show up for example basketball practice, work on skills, and push through the discomfort, you’re building more than just skill and muscle. You are building mental toughness and self-belief.
