In Warriors: Dawn by Erin Hunter. After a prophecy comes where the clans must leave for a new home, or risk destruction or starvation. The medicene apprentice, Leafpaw, must say her goodbyes to her friends before she leaves. One of them is Cody, who was a mother figure to her. After Cody leaves, her father checks in on her.
“You’ll miss her won’t you?” he meowed unexpectedly.
“Yes I will.” Leafpaw admitted. “She was a good friend. But she knows we have to go away.” She stared down into the forest. “We’re leaving so many familiar things behind.” She murmered.
Her father’s eyes clouded with sorrow. “Yes like Graystripe.” (p. 216).
Leafpaw doesn’t want to leave. But she has to, or she might risk death. I felt the same when I first moved to B.C, I left all my friends, my school and my house. I found it to be worth it in the end. And I expect Leafpaw to feel the same at the end of the series. With the move, I think she will realize that she will make new friends and have new experiences. along with getting a new home. And worst comes to worst, she can make the journey back to visit.
