In the book The 48 laws of power, the author Robert Greene expresses many aspects and rules of how to become a powerful person. Rule number 15 is “Crush your enemy totally” and Robert Greene explains how you should not leave any opportunity for your enemey to take revenge because they can emerge against you for revenge.

All great leaders since Moses have known that a feared enemy must be crushed completely. (Sometimes they have learned this the hard way.) If one ember is left alight, nio matter how dimly it smolders, a fire will eventually break out. More is lost through stopping halfway that through total annihilation: The enemy will recover, and will seek revenge. Crush him, not only in body but in spirit.

This law made me reflect on how stopping something halfway through is more dangerous than just finishing the work because if you stop in the middle of something, it can end really bad. Is like leaving a surgery halfway with the patient still opened.
