ww1 readings reflection

For me All Quiet on the Western Front gave me a better understanding on how soilders lived there everyday life, the lead up to war, their relationships before and after the war, how they managed to keep existing in the war and how much of a mental and physical strain on the soilders. The book gave a perspective on how the genuinley horrible the experience and how awfully they were treated durring and leading up to the war. The book really explains how no matter what u where basically destanded for death and at the end of the day people are more worried about wither they get your boots then if you manage to survive and pull through. The book shows how people felt after being in the war, if it was over or if they had leave but how majority of the soilders felt out of place and how no one will understand what they had gone through, how they only belong on the front lines and thats basically all they are good for. How people became objects of things to take and push around and how death was a rushed process that was no longer taken seriously due to the extreamly high rates.
