I don’t really know exactly what I think about this movie, because some parts confused me and other parts made me uncomfortable. There were some things that I just didn’t like or found difficult to understand. One example was at the beginning when Romeo kissed Juliet. To me, it felt like Juliet was not fully comfortable at first, and that made the movie feel like Romeo was just letting his impulses out without thinking about what Juliet feels or wants. I know that this is a movie but still I found that Romeo and Juliet were moving too fast because they barely knew each other. One thing that disappointed me was Juliet’s reaction after Romeo killed Tybalt, who was her cousin. I expected her to be much sadder or angrier because Tybalt was part of her family. Instead, she seemed more worried about what would happen to Romeo. Another thing was also that Juliet forgave that fast Romeo for killing his own cousin. That made me think about how sometimes people fall deeply in love and forget the importance of their families. I didn’t understand some of the language and actions in the movie. Sometimes the characters reacted in weird ways, for example the thing with the thumb that was seen in that time as disrespectful also some language was seen as disrespectful so I just found the scenes weird. Even though there were parts I didn’t like , I did appreciate Friar Laurence’s character. I liked that he tried to help Romeo and Juliet even though he was risking a lot . I think he was my favorite caracter because he had good intensions. And the character that I least liked was Romeo because I just kept feeling all the movie that he was too intrusive to Juliet.
So in conclusion I still don’t really know what I should think about this movie, but I felt like the movie shows that love can be a strong feeling letting it to the point where you give your life for that person. The movie showed that people in love forget the importance of other people that aren’t there love .
