Last week we saw Romeo and Juliet in English class. Personally, I loved the movie because I like romantic movies and I had never seen this one before. I think it is an old movie that shows the characters’ feelings differently than movies nowadays, but I liked it because it shows an expressive and passionate love that is difficult because of their situation and their social class. In this movie, I realized that even though they have many problems, they still do everything possible to be together and create the relationship they want. In this movie we can hear a different type of English that makes it harder to understand, especially if English is not your first language like mine. You really need to pay attention to the movie because the characters say some words with different meanings and expressions. Sometimes it was difficult for me to understand everything they were saying, but at the same time it made the movie more interesting because it helped me understand how people talked in the past. I think that this language also made the movie feel more emotional and dramatic because they express this words with a lot of feeling so even though I don’t understand it their interpretation helped me understand it more. Another thing that I really loved about this movie is the passion that the actors transmit to the audience because not all romantic movies make the actors feel connected to their characters, but in this movie we could really see those emotions. Romeo. And Juliet made the story feel real and intense, especially in the dramatically emotional scenes like when they realized they can’t be together and Romeo can’t be in the town. Also, I loved the costumes because they looked old fashioned but elegant at the same time. In conclusion, I enjoyed watching this movie because it was emotional, dramatic, and different from some modern romantic movies that I see nowadays. It also helped me understand the story of Romeo and Juliet better and made me realize that when two people truly love each other, they will fight for their relationship no matter what problems and challenges appear in their lives they will fight for it.
