I enjoyed watching Romeo and Juliet and I am excited to get to read the book and really analyze what they were saying. Even though it is an old film I think that it was very well made and the acting was good. The outfits, buildings, and all the actors did a great job making you think it was set in the time the play was written. I did find it hard sometimes to understand the actors because the language they use is so different from today’s english. Reading the introduction paper and the book afterwards helped me to understand more. I think the film had a good balance of romance and tragedy. The film showed the feuding families which is a long time plot, and it shows their romance cannot be broken but also their actions have consequences.
Overall I enjoyed watching the film and getting introduced to this well known play. I think the acting and scenes were very good considering how old it is. As well the actors did a very good job of taking on their role which made the film even better. Sometimes the language was confusing but using the guides and book helped to clear up any misunderstandings I had. I look forward to reading the book and comparing the differences and getting a good judge of how well the film was actually portrayed.
