PR – R&J Movie – Archie

I found the movie quite interesting. There were many plot twists and different events that happened that made the movie much more interesting. For example, when Mercutio dies, this is unexpected as everyone thought he was just making a joke and acting out to make all his friends laugh, when in reality he was experiencing a lot of pain and seriously dying. This was a very shocking moment in the movie that turned around the whole plot and was the start of a chain reaction of negative events for Romeo. That made me feel sorry for Romeo as someone who he valued so much as a best friend, he lost. I found it quite understandable that he went and got revenge for his best friend like that, but at the same time I knew it would go wrong for Romeo if he did so. It made me wonder about what would happen next to Romeo and also made me wonder what would happen to his relationship with Juliet after Romeo kills her cousin. These thoughts made me feel worried, curious, and almost a little bit panicked when I thought about what would happen to Romeo when the prince would find out, as earlier in the movie the prince specifically said he would kill anyone if they started a fight again in the streets of Verona like that. I also knew that this was a romance story, but many moments and scenes felt overexaggerated. It almost felt unnecessary to show their romantic moments so often, it was like it was every 2 minutes. I understand that the movie is trying to show how strong their emotions and love are for each other, but I find that it could’ve been just as easily understood with a lot fewer of those scenes and still felt overexaggerative. I still overall give this movie a 7.5, as I found the plot, overall details, and storyline quite interesting.
