PR to Romeo and Juliet

I would say that overall, Romeo and Juliet was ok. I have to admit that I used to think that Romeo and Juliet was a sappy romance movie/book. And I don’t really like those movies because I just don’t really get the appeal. So, I thought I wouldn’t really like it, and I really dreaded the first classes. However, my opinion has changed. I still don’t really like those kinds of movies, and I would not watch it again. However, it wasn’t as focused on the romance as much as I thought it was. This leads to some of my thoughts on the film;

  1. What is wrong with men? I remember the entire film all I could think about was about how ridiculous and stupid the men were acting. Like, they fought over every little thing. And it wasn’t even as if they were just cursing at each other or in a fist fight but, they were full on battling. Like, who ever though it was a good idea to have a fight in the middle of the street with sharp weapons? This even got 2 people killed. I will admit there were a few boys who were mature and tried to break up the situation, but most of them were either battling, or running around and cheering on the opponents.
  2. Romeo and Juliet need some self control. I remember it was super annoying whenever they were saying goodbye. They took forever even when one of them was in danger/trouble. I just felt it was completely unnecessary and it made me frustrated whenever they did that.

There were a few other things that I noticed while watching the film that either didn’t make sense or it just seemed stupid to me.

Overall, I would rate Romeo and Juliet a 6/10.
