Mostly on of the hardest feelings for me or other students in school is being compared to other students. It can feel really frustrating when you give your 100 percent or good effort , study for hours, and truly try your best , but your grades do not reflect the effort you put in. But at the same time you see classmates who seem to succeed naturally in every subject , even in the ones where you struggle the most .

Sometimes I compare myself to friends or even those who get higher grades in subject where I wish I could perform better, that makes me question my abilities, and most of the time make me give up because trying again and again just not work even when I know im working hard. But the truth is that not everyone has the same strengths. Some people are naturally stronger in certain areas , just like others have talents that are less visible in school , that in most of the cases they left school to dedicate into the thing they know its they’re future and where they know they belong to , to succeed in life , being satisfied for themselves. We all develop different capacities, and that is something we cannot fully control .

What makes it more complicated as I’ve seeing is that in an international schools, cultural differences can also influence how teachers  connect with students. Sometimes it can feel like preferences exist , even if they’re not intentional. When teachers value certain personalities or styles more than others, it can affect motivation from others and eventually , grades.

So overall, im learning that my effort still matters. Grades do not always show the full story of someone’s work , effort, or intelligence , grades do not represent who I am or what im capable of , most people in the world who succeed in life aren’t those who has the perfect marks . Being compared can hurt , but it also teaches resilience. Success is not about being better than others , its about becoming better than the person you were yesterday , because in the end , success is not measured by society’s expectations , but by the meaning we give to our own path.
