My family celebrates most of the holidays in the same way as most, except for Halloween. Because Halloween is the same day as my grandma’s, all my family around Brazil comes to see her and we need to divide the day into two parts, the birthday and the tricks or treats of halloween. So in the morning until around 5pm we stay in my grandma’s house with her, having lunch, talking and doing whatever she wants, that is usually going into her favorite restaurant and then seeing old photos of the family when everyone was a kid. Around 5:30pm until 10pm we go to my condominium to trick or treat into the houses. After the trick or treat, me and my older cousin go to party’s in my city with some friends of mine and we stay there until 4am. When the party ends, we go back to my grandma’s house and sleep in there and are forced to wake up at 10am so we can go have breakfast together before my cousins leave. Although it is a very long and exhausting day, it is one of my favorite days in the year, since I see my cousins, celebrate my grandma’s birthday and go to a party.
