IRJE #7 “Assholes: A Theory”

So I started reading this new book called “Assholes: A Theory” by Aaron James . This book I found it in my sisters apartment she studies psychology that’s why she has many books like this so I had many options to choose but the titles of this one immediately surprised me and made me curious, so I decided to read it. Right now im around page 50, not too much because I try to read it slowly so I can understand it and enjoy it better, the author in this books is explaining what he thinks and “assholes” actually is form a psychological and social point of view and sometimes how to deal with them.

What I’ve been reading one idea that is interesting , the author says that an assholes is not just someone who is rude sometimes. According to him ,it’s a person who consistently feels entitled to special treatment and doesn’t care about how their behaviour affects the other people. I think this is interesting because it makes you think about people you might see in everyday life who act like the rules don’t even apply to them and that they’re the centre of the world , and that’s crazy.

I really like that this book mixes philosophy and psychology. This is not just for insulting people it’s mostly to understand why people like this behave this way. Since I’ve been kind of interested learning about psychology , this book has been really interesting for me so far. But lets say that im still around between page 40-50 that I don’t except what im going to read next  that’s exciting, it already made me think more about how people treat others and why some personalities can have such a strong of negative impact on those around them and that even people that doesn’t notice it or just ignore it.
