Someone is Always Watching by Kelley Armstrong is about a girl Blyth who goes to a private STEM high school called Coeus Prep, where most of the students are children of employees of a medical-tech company, Coeus Medical Technologies (CMT). Prior to high school the story takes place im guessing a year before where she was at a comany picnic, the company would high a few highschoolers to watch them while they sat and talking to each other, she over heard them talking about a guy Tucker in her class, while listeing she over heard them start to talk about her saying how shes boring and how it seems like she got a surgery to remove all of her personality because it mustve been impossible to be that boring and to yourself. As any kid does when they are stressed out and embarrassed she ran away and hid being a tree trying to calm herself down, a few seconds later Tucker came out from behind a tree asking her if shes alright following with “you want to do something bad”. Blyth new she shouldnt but still said yes. The two made their way to the parking lot.
“thats the baby sitters car, the one with the hole in it”. I squinted at it “I dont see a hole”, “not yet” he grinned and picked up a rock when he held it out i starred. “You want me to…” i began, “only if you want to” he glanced at the car “i can do it if you’d like” i shook my head. he glanced over “If you get caught ill say it was me”, “that isnt right” i said “no one would ever belive it was you anyway Blyth Warren would never throw a rock through a window”, “because shes boring”.
this quote is on page 5 between Tucker and Blyth. I think this is a very valuable scean in the book because it shows how the two became frinds almost clicking and how Tucker was willing to take the blame for Blyth knowing he would get in trouble.
