PW#2 Halloween

For me, every year Halloween has a way of changing the mood of everything. The air gets colder, the streets grow darker, and even familiar places start to feel different. It’s not really about the candy or costumes, it’s about the  excitement that comes with the night.

Last year, a few friends and I decided to go trick-or-treating, even though we were probably a little too old for it. None of us had real costumes, so I threw on a black hoodie and cat ears. (very unoriginal of me) The streets were filled with people walking around, leaves were crunching under everyone’s feet, and houses glowed with decorations and carved pumpkins.

We had passed many houses, but my favorite was one that had a fog machine, fake gravestones, and creepy music playing. It was basically a mini haunted house. We went from house to house until our bags were full, then went to my friends house sorting through our candy. I traded away all my licorice for literally anything else, I hate licorice.

After that me and my friends stayed up way to late laughing, talking , and enjoying Halloween night.

Halloween ends fast, but that’s what makes it good, it shows up, makes everything a little weird and fun, and then disappears until next year.
