In the book the wild robot protects Written by Peter brown, the book starts off with the robot at the island finally escaping from the far she was at last book. This time the robot and the animals wake up to discover that the water surrounding the island is purple. They begin to call this the poison tide. Roz goes into the water to figure out she is immune to the poison tide so she decides to try to stop it by going to the ancient shark. On her way there She ran into a big sperm whale.  They had a conversation about being able to stop the poison tide

“If it makes you feel any better,” said Roz, “I am on a mission to stop the poison tide.” At this The whale released a series of snorts and grunts, and Roz realized he was laughing. When the whales laughter subside he said “you think you can stop the poison tide? you must be joking. The poison tide is vast, and it spreads farther every day! I’m a giant and even i couldn’t stop the poison tide. A puny creature like you has no chance.” Then the whale started to laugh again. (p.101).

Even though no one believes in Roz to stop the poison tide she keeps on going for the sake of the world and with the help of other animals.  She wants to do everything in her power for the sake of the other animals. Even if she has too walk thousands of miles underwater just to talk to a giant shark. I feel like once she finds the ancient shark the shark is gonna say their is nothing they can do and tells Roz to go away.
