The iPhone 17 series was announced yesterday and I have some thoughts. First off, Apple finally added 120hz displays to the base model iPhones which they should have added a long time ago and $400 Android phones have had for years. They also added an anti-reflective display which Samsung had since the S24 Ultra. Secondly, they made a new phone model called the iPhone Air. This is basically just a worse phone than the base model iPhone 17 but more expensive and an objectively worse phone with a small battery, speaker, only one camera, etc. The Pros got a new two-tone design with an aluminum build and a glass rectangle in the middle to allow wireless charging and Magsafe. I honestly really love that since it allows for better conductivity and durability without losing one of the iPhone’s biggest advantages while also reminding me of the HTC One. They also announced the new AirPods Pros 3, which are pretty cool and things no one cares about like the Apple Watch. Overall, this was actually a pretty good launch with some cool upgrades that make a difference, even for someone who uses and prefers Android. While many of these features have been available on Android for a while, and it’s still too early to tell just how big of a difference these things will make, they are still good upgrades if you are using an iPhone.
