PW 3: Thanksgiving Weekend

On the weekend I went to Vancouver for Thanksgiving. There were many ups and downs throughout the whole weekend, of which I’ll explain.

The morning of, Saturday morning, I woke up at 6am to leave at 7am. As I brought my bag and pillow downstairs, I came down to my mom and dad frustrated. Our car had been at the mechanics twice within the past two weeks, and yet somehow was leaking oil. We got around this by using our other, smaller car, which was uncomfortable to fit into, but it worked. My dad was frustrated though.

We made it across the ferry and to our family friend’s house. On the day of dinner, we were supposed to start the turkey at around 9:30am. But of course, the oven had to break. We ended up going three blocks down holding this gigantic, oversized turkey just to cook it at our friends’ house. It actually got cooked properly and made it back on time for dinner, which was surprising.

Sidenote, we had started a Mario party game at 9:30 when they tried to prepare the turkey. By the time we had finished most of the other food, about 1:15pm, we were on the LAST ROUND of the game. I’m never playing that again. No game should take 4 hours to finish.

On the way back to our house, we had too much traffic, but there weren’t many other problems. We did have a good time running away and leaving our friend behind on the street in the middle of the night while he was cat sitting, tired, and in crocs.

In all, my weekend was pretty fun, but some questionable things happened along the way that made my weekend interesting and kept my on my feet.
