#11 Kartana: its a cool pokemon and i like the origami paper thing that can cut meteors, but it just never stood out to me even when i had one during a playthrough of a pokemon rom hack. but a 4x weakness to fire is kinda bad, especially when the defenses suck too, but it has a absurdly high attack at 174 or something like that which is neat, but being slimed by a lighter is not.
#10 Poipole: its a pre-evolution and the only ultra beast that evolves, so obviously its weak. i like the design but the only reason its higher than kartana is cause of the anime, but in the games it kinda sucks.
#9 Buzzwole: i really like buzzwole, but bug-fighting is just a really bad defensive typing, when its defense and attack is in the 100’s, the special defense also isnt good. the design is cool, but its typing just drags it down with a 4x weakness to flying and many other weaknesses. plus there being another bug-fighting ultra beast that is what buzzwole shouldve been.
#8 blacephalon: the only ultra beast with a signature move, mind blown (150 base power but high recoil) and though it can be good in many situations, especially with its high special attack stat but if the enemy survives a mind blown, they’re likely to KO blacephalon, though i wouldnt know as i never actually used one.
#7 Guzzlord: i really like guzzlords design, but similarly to buzzwole, a high HP tank is good, but dark-dragon being a awful typing a 4x weakness to a very used type being fairy, among plenty of others. there even is another dark-dragon type in hydreigon and roaring moon, but they’re offensive so they can utilize their type way better than guzzlord, who looks strong until you realize a little speck of fairy dust sends it to the shadow realm.
#6 Naganadel: naganadel, the evolution of poipole, its the weakest ultra beast (besides poipole) having a base stat total of 540 while the others have 570, however it has a very good movepool with plenty of setup and coverage options, but i never found success using one as its too slow to move before most of the things that counter it, and when it is faster it cant deal high enough damage to take them out. but it still is a very good special attacker
#5 Pheromosa: this is what i was talking about when there was a better bug-fighting than buzzwole. Pheromosa has very low defenses but it doesnt need that when it outspeeds almost everything and its high special attack AND attack can KO anything too, and since it has equal atk and spatk it can be a mixed attacker running physical attacks alongside special ones, the only downside again is the poor defensive typing but it doesnt suffer as much as buzzwole due to being a offensive mon
#4 Stakataka: this is basically the best trick room mon you could have, with a low 13 speed (trick room reverses speed stats) and a VERY high 211 defense and good attack too, it can use 150 base power gyro balls but despite being a defensive mon it has 3 weaknesses which isnt bad until you realize two of them are 4x, fighting and ground. but besides those nothing can hurt it.
#3 Xurkitree: Xurkitree has one of the highest special attacks in the game at 176 or something like that, and when you put a choice scarf on it (boosts speed 1.5x but only lets you use one move) then it can sweep many things, it also gets the busted move tail glow that raises your special attack by +3 which is 2.5x. and being a pure electric type it has only one weakness being ground
#2 Nihilego: Nihilego is a really good UB for it can use meteor beam, and can utilize its beast boost ability to raise special attack or speed depending on which is higher, it gets a bunch of good status moves too if you want to use it for support.
#1 Celesteela: Steel-flying is just a amazing defensive type, with many resistances and only 2 weaknesses, electric and fire. it can also similar to pheromosa be a mixed attacker, except celesteela has very good defenses and hp too, so it can take hits and retaliate with even harder ones. it also gets good grass type support in leech seed, and growth. it can also use heavy slam as its tied for the heaviest pokemon in the game.
