{"id":18966,"date":"2026-05-11T21:59:44","date_gmt":"2026-05-12T04:59:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ericmacknight.com\/english10\/?p=18966"},"modified":"2026-05-11T21:59:44","modified_gmt":"2026-05-12T04:59:44","slug":"poetry-pr-2-10","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ericmacknight.com\/english10\/poetry-pr-2-10\/","title":{"rendered":"Poetry PR #2"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So one poem i stood thinking about when we where in this unit was mostly the introduction to poetry by\u00a0<em>billy collins<\/em> because it felt more relatable than a lot of the other poems we read i liked from this how the poet talks about people trying too hard to figure out the &#8220;correct&#8221; meaning of poetry instead of just feeling it first. The part about tying the poem to a chair and torturing a confession put of it was kinda funny for me because it sound so exaggerated , but at the same time its kind of true because a lot of people overthink poetry so much that it stops being enjoyable.<\/p>\n<p>Also another poem that i remember was about \u00a0<em>a terrorist is watching by wislawa szymborska ,<\/em> what made this poem interesting was the way it builds suspense i knew something bad was going to happen. I also liked how the poem focuses on normal people doing regular things before the explosion because it makes everything feel more real and uncomfortable<\/p>\n<p>All this poems of this unit were really different from each other, but his two i mentioned made me actually interested.
