So far in the book, on page one, I know absolutely nothing about the characters or how the author writes. However, a section of dialogue between who I assume are the main characters caught my eye.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;We need to stay focused.&#8221; Elijah opened his eyes. &#8220;Now more than ever.&#8221;<br \/>\n&#8220;No shit, Sherlock.&#8221;<br \/>\n&#8220;I&#8217;m serious, Sierra. Maybe there&#8217;s something you want to tell us? We&#8217;ve got the time.&#8221;<br \/>\n&#8220;Now that you mention it, I have been meaning to point out what a pretentious asshat you are.&#8221; (p. 1)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I chose this quotation because I remembered a conversation I had last week with Lyla and&#8230; someone else that I cannot recall currently. I used the word &#8216;asshat&#8217; and they both looked at me and said that they had never heard it before, so I looked up the meaning from the Merriam-Webster dictionary (on my phone, obviously). I thought that was funny. I also chose this quotation because I love using the phrase &#8216;no shit, Sherlock&#8217;, though I hardly get the chance to use it.
