I started at Brookes in September of grade 8, which was I think 2023. And ever since then I have made so many good memories and so many nice friends and I am so grateful for having come to Brookes. I remember the summer before coming, I begged my parents to let me go to the same school as all of my friends from my old school. And looking back now, I am glad that they said no, because I couldn’t imagine how my life would be if I hadn’t come to Brookes. I can’t imagine not having gone to any of those start of year trips, I can’t imagine not having those long car rides back and fourth with my dad, I can’t imagine what my camera roll would have looked like without all of those pictures from all the fun times I have had with my friends. My friends and I constantly look back on pictures that we have from trips like Hornby, East Sooke, and Tofino. We also look back on just random dinners or sleepovers that we had and we would miss those days. It always gives me such nostalgia whenever I look at this pictures. In them, there’s old friends we used to be so close with, old places we went, but what gets me most is me in the pictures. I always think, wow, I have changed so much since then, and I start to think about how if me in that picture would see me now, she would be shocked at how much in my life has changed. And the pictures that really make me think about that is the ones from the summer before grade 8, where I was so worried about coming to Brookes, but if she could see how well it went, she would be so happy. And it makes me wonder how much my life will change in a few weeks, months, or even years. But right now, I’m going to try to live more in the moment, so that when I do look back on me now, I will have so many memories to look back on.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
