It helped me understand how soldiers lived their everyday lives, what they went through on the front lines, and how much they suffered physically and mentally. The author describes everything in detail, so you can really imagine what it was like to be there. It makes you realize how hard and painful life was for young men who were sent to fight in the war.One part that stood out to me was how the book shows the soldiers mental struggles. Even when they got time away from the front , they could never go back to normal life. Paul, the main character, feels like he doesn’t belong anywhere because no one at home understands what he has been through. The book also shows how death became something normal. The soldiers saw so much of it that they stopped feeling much emotion about it. It’s very sad, but it shows the truth of how war changes people and makes them lose a part of themselves. This book helps knowing more and understand how the WWI really was for the people that lived in that time.

The book All Quiet on the Western Front made the biggest impression on me because it shows how horrible World War I really was.
