I think that the movie we watched was the most influential and impactful piece in my opinion. This is because i find that because films can put an image to what you are reading or hearing, it helps to bring it alive a lot more. I find that having that visual really helped me be able to put myself in their shoes a bit more and see how it would’ve been if i was a solder in the war. Like reading the book was fine and I could kinda imagine it, but when I actually got to like watch a film describing and re-enacting it it really was able to put me into their perspective and it kinda was a bit nerve-racking to be honest just to image the chaos and the fear that each soldier was going through in that battlefield and in those trenches. the chaotic and unsafe living conditions, the realization that at almost any moment you or someone you know or are close with could be shot would be really scary. It helped me see visually how much of a horror it was in that place. And it did so more than any text ever could.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
