This part really shows how chaotic and exhausting life in the trenches was, The description makes it easy to imagine soldiers surrounded by disorder and danger everywhere,there no sense of glory or heroism here just fatigue, confusion, and survival. It feels like the soldiers are stuck in a never-ending loop, walking past other men, weapons, and broken defenses, while trying to stay alive one more day.<\/span><\/p>\n
When it says that the parapet is \u201clow or broken or thin\u201d and that messages are passed back \u201cmeaninglessly when they have passed the danger point,\u201d it shows how routine and empty everything has become. The men don\u2019t even react emotionally anymore, they just follow orders because that\u2019s all they can do, It\u2019s like their humanity is fading in the middle of so much chaos.<\/span><\/p>\n
I think this passage is important because it exposes the real side of war\u00a0 <\/span>not the brave or patriotic version people usually imagine, but the physical and mental destruction it brings, it reminds us that soldiers aren\u2019t just characters in history books, they were real people who suffered, got scared, and lost hope, reading this makes me think about how war turns human lives into something mechanical and meaningless, and how peace is something we should never take for granted.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
