I could understand the situation easier and in a greater depth than just simply the feelings that the books and readings evoked onto me. There were certain parts of the war that weren’t included or made clear in the books that the skipped or missed.<\/p>\n
Funny parts like some of the soldiers falling into the pile of poo after the toilet-bench broke while they were all sitting on it weren’t added to the books and readings, but were, in the documentary. The documentary also had opinions and words from many different war veterans who actually witnessed the war, fought in it and appeared in the videos. All of these insights from all the different soldiers gave a further angles and perspectives about the war experience and it also showed how the fields, battlegrounds, trenches, tanks and shell holes looked; which the books couldn’t do as effectively. Overall, i enjoyed the documentary more because of the extra details, inclusion of more senses, and all the unskipped, and uncut moments, opinions and perspectives, that were provided.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
The World War 1 documentary that we watched in class left the biggest impression on me because, not only was it more entertaining, it was also more understandable because of its visual and auditory aspects.
